The Banff RCMP are asking for the public’s help locating those responsible for damage to brand new bus shelters in the resort community earlier this month.

BANFF – The Banff RCMP are asking for the public’s help locating those responsible for damage to brand new bus shelters in the resort community earlier this month.

According to an RCMP press release, the incident occurred between Nov. 8 and 9, when a suspect or suspects carved circles into the glass of two bus shelters.

One is located in front of the Banff IGA at 325 Banff Ave. the other is in front of the high school on the other side of the road at 330 Banff Ave.

The two bus shelters are new, having been built this year by the Town of Banff at a cost of $500,000 to provide a waiting space and amenities for passengers on Roam routes in Banff, as well as regional transit.

The province of Alberta paid $333,333 of the total cost from its GreenTrip infrastructure program, with the municipality covering the difference.
