“We recognize that there are significant financial challenges on the Town’s budget; however, we do think that collectively the municipalities in the Bow Valley should collaborate on examining the potential to build a field house in the valley."

“With case counts far exceeding anything we have ever seen before, the sheer volume of cases means that daily hospitalizations are beginning to escalate,” said Dr. Deena Hinshaw.

“We had a couple more allegations recently, it’s continuing, but we have not been able to prove any conclusively," said Staff Sergeant Mike Buxton-Carr

“I can’t see a time when it’s not going to be one of our operational priorities. Every time we have a conversation with the community, road safety comes up,” said Staff Sergeant Mike Buxton-Carr, Banff RCMP’s detachment commander.

“In light of the growing challenges associated with the Omicron variant, we are pleased with the government’s decision to again abate the Alberta tourism levy in recognition of the lodging sector’s need to find cash flow to make it through the winter season."

“Please reach out to friends, family or to a medical professional if you need help, and please be respectful of others, especially those who are required to implement COVID restrictions and those who are feeling anxious or distressed about this fluid situation," said Banff Mayor Corrie DiManno

“We will obviously take anyone who is there for any shot… But certainly, the intention is to try to give people better access to the booster dose.”

On Dec. 27, the Bow corridor was on so-called red alert, when ambulances from Banff, Canmore and Kananaskis were all responding to emergencies in Calgary around the same time.
