A British Columbia man is taking a guide, an alpine school and the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides to court following a guided trip in July that he is claiming left him with multiple injuries.

“It’s going to become a destination, it’s going to be on Instagram. I really struggle with the thought of an overpass being a solution,” said Councillor Chip Olver.

“First, we know Banffites love to go by bike. Secondly, it would be a great use of the environmental reserve because it supports residents lowering their daily carbon footprint,” said Mayor Corrie DiManno.

RCMP advised motorists to expect delays with a temporary planned closure of a roughly 16-km stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway in Yoho National Park near Field in both directions on Wednesday for avalanche control work.
