Parks Canada confirmed Bear 122, aka The Boss, was spotted on Monday (March 18) – the first confirmed sighting in Banff of the year.

Pettigrew, who has served on council since 2021, said last week that he intends to continue on council and with other community duties.

“We understand and we know that there are differing opinions in the community,” said MPC chair Stavros Karlos following an in-camera discussion at MPC on Wednesday (March 13).

"Again, as noted in several letters, emails, meetings, and telephone discussions between 2019 and 2024, a gondola from the ARP site to the Mount Norquay ski area has been assessed twice and found not to be feasible due to non-conformance with key park policy and legislation."
