BEST OF THE BOW: Three Sisters Taxi driven by passion for service

"Everyone that gets in says our cars are the best they’ve seen. Our drivers are non-smoking, polite, professional and have a good sense of humour. They go the extra mile and they’ll help carry your groceries if needed.”

Forget what you think you know about taxi services – Three Sister’s Taxi will exceed your expectations in every way.

Family-owned and operated, Dave and Mirrah Ouellette oversee a fleet that includes a 14 passenger van, a heavy duty truck, and cars. Services include airport shuttle, wedding drivers, Banff and Lake Louise and other day trips, business transportation, and team/group transport. Three Sister’s also hauls to the renowned Goat Creek Trail.

The cars are cleaned thoroughly between fares – a practice that was in place long before the added requirements due to COVID-19. Now, drivers strictly adhere to the Town’s bylaws and wear masks, and passengers are discouraged from using the front seats for added safety.

Three Sister’s reviews are outstanding and it was voted best taxi company in Canmore as part of the Rocky Mountain Outlook's Best of the Bow readers' choice awards this year.

"It’s the vehicles and our drivers," says Dave Ouellette.

"Everyone that gets in says our cars are the best they’ve seen. Our drivers are non-smoking, polite, professional and have a good sense of humour. They go the extra mile and they’ll help carry your groceries if needed.”

Outstanding service is based on family values, something that Three Sister’s Taxi achieves by involving the whole family and treating the extended team as family members too. Mirrah is one of Canmore’s top taxi drivers; daughter Rhyanna, who is 11, helps with banking and bookkeeping; and Tanya, 3, and Savannah, 8, help clean the cars.

For the Ouellettes, providing service in Canmore is something they love to do every day.

“It’s a great place to raise kids, a great place to start a business, and just a great community overall,” says Ouellette.

He and his family, and the team of Three Sister’s Taxi, discreetly give back to the community in many ways. During the early phases of the pandemic, they helped with purchasing and delivering groceries for locked down residents.

Rhyanna was recently honoured with a local hero community award and Dave has received the Mayor’s Awards for Volunteer Excellence. Last year Three Sister’s sponsored Rotary Club of Canmore’s Gingerbread Lane.

“We’re lucky,” says Ouellette modestly of the family and team’s passion for giving back. “We are lucky and that’s how we look at it. This town has been very good to us, so we want to be good to it. The community supports and we support it as much as we can in return. We just feel proud to live and do business in Canmore.”
