Food at the Fair: New treats to try at Calgary Stampede

Creative, daring, spicy — a few way to describe some of the new foods on offer at this year's Calgary Stampede.

With a menu that brings creative, daring, and spicy twists on traditional favourites, this year’s Calgary Stampede offerings will most likely not disappoint.

Over 40 new items include Waffle Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwiches, Honey Habanero Ice Pops, Lemon Meringue Lychee Lemonade, Pig-kle Sandwiches, Unagi Sushi Tacos, and Octopus Rangoon. Taste a Glazed Donut Grilled Cheese, Kraft Dinner Soft Serve, Deep Fried Oreo Mini Donuts, Bad Breath Lemonade (a fusion of garlic and caramelized onion with lemonade) and Cricket Hot Dogs.

But don’t worry good ol' corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cakes and mini doughnuts will be available throughout the midway too.

“The spectacular and inventive dishes make the Calgary Stampede experience fun and memorable,” said Kyle Russell, Director, Stampede Programming.

Whether it’s the traditional treats or the wild and wacky new creations on the menu, there will be something for everyone at Stampede 2022, July 8-17.

Taste the Midway all 10 days with a SuperPass for $49 plus GST, online at www.calgarystampede.com.
