DEAD MAN’S FLATS – As winter chill makes way for spring, the Bow Valley drivers must contend with road dirt and grime covering their vehicles inside and out.

Tyler Juchau, owner of Rocky Mountain Auto Salon, wants to help drivers turn their winter worn cars and trucks into spring fresh drives at his Dead Man’s Flats auto shop.

“In the spring you just want to get all of that damp water, snow, salt and sand – all of that stuff – off your car and off its interior to make it feel like new again,” he said.

Juchau offers interior vacuuming, shampooing, hair and debris removal along with natural environmentally friendly products to help maintain a clean showroom look.

The salon also performs paint correction, polishing scratches, rock chip damage and is the only provider of ceramic paint protection in the Bow Valley.

“We want your car to feel like it’s brand new, the way it felt coming off the showroom floor,” he said.

Rocky Mountain Auto Salon is a provider of Ceramic Pro protection, and is also the Western Canadian training facility for the installation and use of the product.

Juchau said that the use of a ceramic coating is a permanent protection solution to prevent paint damage, and has benefits over more traditional wax coatings.

“Wax is very dated and in warm temperatures things will stick to wax,” he said.

Other benefits cited include greater resistance to weather, road salts, ultra-violet rays and doesn’t have to be reapplied after a car goes through a car wash.

For more extreme protection against rock damage, Rocky Mountain Auto Salon also installs paint protection film.

The film is a vinyl product that prevents paint damage on the front end of a vehicle by absorbing the damage caused by rocks and debris.

“Not only do we apply it, we make sure the car is perfect underneath – so we’re fixing those stone chips even for a used vehicle in order to put the film on – and when we put the film on we wrap all the edges ensuring the best possible fit,” he said.

Jachau begin detailing vehicles in Toronto 13 years ago, operating a mobile detailing business before moving to the Bow Valley five years ago.

He said that operating a specialized facility in the Bow Valley provides many advantages over mobile detailing, with better access to the right tools, right cleaning products and the best lighting.

Rocky Mountain Auto Salon offers a variety of packages and options, with Jachau saying that he is able to meet most budgets and needs.

The salon can be reached at 403-688-9002, through their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/rmautosalon/ and at their Dead Man’s Flats location in Bay 6, 2 Limestone Valley Road.
