CANMORE – Two Calgary individuals are facing multiple criminal charges after several thefts in Canmore last week.

On Sept. 16, Canmore RCMP officers responded to multiple alarms at Beamer's Coffee in the Shops of Canmore and across the road at Willow Flower Company at approximately 2 a.m., according to a press release.

While responding to the call, one officer noticed a driver in a vehicle erratically driving away from where the alarms were going off and conducted a traffic stop. The two people in the vehicle were charged when further investigation provided evidence to believe the two were involved in break-ins at both businesses.

Brian Robert Wagner, 40, from Calgary and Jennifer Wamiss, 42, from Calgary are both charged with two counts of break and enters, one to commit mischief and one to commit theft.

Wagner is also charged with impaired driving, three breaches of an undertaking and operating a vehicle without a licence.

Beamer's Coffee's third location opened last fall while the Willow Flower Company has been opened since 2001, but has changed ownership and location over the years. Both businesses are located on Bow Valley Trail.

Wagner and Wamiss are scheduled to appear in Canmore Provincial Courthouse later in October.
