EDITORIAL: The day of propped open doors in winter months will soon be coming to an end in the Bow Valley.

Local indie rock band, The Cave Arcade, has two performances at the upcoming Canmore Folk Fest.

As a result, a closure is in place for a popular mountain trail until further notice.

It's a mountain feat so rare that it's only finisher, Canmore trail runner Adam Mertens, had to brainstorm a name to call it.

“It's a really good way to show that when a peace officer or police officer talks to you, it's not always a bad thing. Sometimes you can get a free ice cream out of it.”

“There’s multiple reasons a door might be open – people entering, exiting, deliver happening, an emergency – we don’t want to assume the door is open for the sake of being open,”

“We were able to get back to a live [event] this year and everyone was so excited. The festival is a very integral part of the Bow Valley music community.”
