“When our local EMS is in the city dropping off a patient at one of the hospitals, the provincial dispatch system identifies them as an available resource and dispatches them to an emergency call in the city."

“I have yet to meet people who say they have seen something like that. It is successful from that point of view. The other types of comments are from other artists who talk to me about it is they haven’t seen it before either.”

“The full-day opportunity allows us to collaborate with the Town of Canmore and attracting performers for both towns,” said Jason Darrah, the director of communications and marketing for the Town of Banff.

“The prediction part of it was the difficult part because of the unknown of what the impact of COVID is. I don’t think we are out of the COVID element, and that impact will be on our international student program. We are unsure if borders will close again.”

“Every day – Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday – had more vehicles coming into Banff than in the pre-pandemic May long weekend,” said Jason Darrah, the communications director for the Town of Banff.

“The tourism master plan will become the guidepost for sustainable tourism here and we want community feedback.”

“This time around, I didn’t find our list of people wanting to sit on boards was very good. There were not so many new faces putting their names down. I think that if someone clicks on the MD YouTube page, and gets to watch these meetings, they may get more involved and more interested.”

“The overall non-residential assessments have seen a significant decrease from the previous year compared to residential assessments as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Andrea Stuart, manager of finance for the Town of Banff.

“I’m not saying there isn’t COVID in Banff, but another relevant question is are people from Calgary going to the bathroom in Banff? If I were in Banff, I would still be careful.”
