“With increased testing, we will find more cases and that may bring new exposures at workplaces into view,” Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said. “This gives an opportunity to be sure that contact tracing and measures to prevent infection are put in place.”

“Although it’s disappointing to have had our 2019/2020 ski and snowboard season cut short, due to circumstances, we as a mountain and community are focused on promoting the health and wellness of our province."

“We have not yet seen the peak of COVID-19 in Alberta,” Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said.

“We don’t yet know when the pandemic will end or when we will be able to start easing up on economic and social restrictions need to contain the virus,” Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said. “In the meantime and over the long term let me tell you this for certain – Alberta is there for you.”

“These restrictions will not be in place forever,” Alberta Medical Chief Officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw said. “At this time we are not yet at that point where we can start easing off.”

“Our nurses are trained on PPE's. We do have a medical transport program and our drivers are trained on PPE's as well and if someone needed to be tested and has no transportation, we can always use our medical transportation vehicles to bring them to the health centre."

“It’s important to remember that the COVID-19 pandemic we will all be dealing with for some while,” Hinshaw said. “What we do have is each other and the basic measures to prevent spread that will be with us in the months to come.”
