“We’re in a very different time in this pandemic. A lot has changed, including vaccinations,” said Silvio Adamo, the director of emergency management for the Town of Banff.

"At this stage, it may be unwise to use municipal health measures that would deviate from provincial measures, but it’s not off the table," said Banff Mayor Corrie DiManno.

“Because of the challenges throughout the province in recruiting lifeguards, the pool will only be open for unguarded swims for our recreation centre members, for day pass holders, and Banff Centre guests in our residence this year."

The local sports hall of fame is back and looking for nominations for its 2022 inductees.

“We will continue to generate entrepreneurial revenue as part of our balanced funding model, but Banff Centre will remain a public post-secondary institution and registered charity.”
