Canmore police report

On Dec. 21, Canmore RCMP was dispatched to a broken down vehicle on the highway. On arrival, police discovered one occupant was highly intoxicated.

On Dec. 21, Canmore RCMP was dispatched to a broken down vehicle on the highway. On arrival, police discovered one occupant was highly intoxicated. A check revealed she was bound by a probation order with conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. The occupant was arrested and charged for breaching her probation order. The occupant is to appear in Canmore Provincial Court on Feb. 9.

On Dec. 21, police received a 911 call of a possible impaired driver on the highway. The vehicle was located and the driver, a youth, was arrested for impaired operation. Further checks also revealed the vehicle was stolen earlier that day and drugs were located inside. The youth was also breaching several conditions of a Youth Criminal Justice Act order. The youth was remanded in custody and is to appear in Calgary court.

At the time of the incident, a male passenger in the vehicle ran away. He was later located and arrested for possession of property obtained by crime. The passenger, also a youth, was breaching several conditions of a Youth Criminal Justice Act order. He was remanded in custody to appear in Calgary Court.

On Dec. 28, Canmore RCMP were dispatched to the Macdonald’s restaurant drive-through for a possible impaired driver. Police located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot. The male driver displayed strong signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was later released to appear in Canmore court on Feb. 23.
