In an effort to further promote community and launch a new website, Highline Magazine is putting on an event that will have you saying it is a beautiful day in the neighbourhood.

Know Your Neighbour Night is being held next Thursday (June 9) at 7 p.m. at the Canmore Miners’ Union Hall.

Highline Magazine publisher and creative director Kristy Davison said she hopes the event is just the beginning.

“We are celebrating the launch of our new website and using that as an excuse to get our Highline community together,” Davison said. “We are hoping this is just the beginning.”

HighlineOnline.ca is intended to be a hub for what is happening in the Bow Valley and the Rocky Mountains in general.

With three years behind the semi-annual publication, Davison says the website will not replace the magazine, but connect people in the community year-round.

While celebrating the launch of the site is important, it was also critical to use the event to promote worthwhile community causes.

As such, Know Your Neighbour Night will also be a fundraiser for the Banff Community Greenhouse Project and the Canmore Community Garden with a 50/50 draw and silent auction.

Local musicians Seth Anderson, Her and Us, Layten Kramer and the Eerie Green and others will entertain along with a cash bar.

Tickets are recommended in advance and can be purchased by visiting knowyourneighbournight.eventbrite.com.
