Officials at Mount Norquay confirm an avalanche occurred inbounds at 2:35 p.m. Friday from the upper valley of the tens to the bottom of Gun run. Ski patrol, helicopters and rescue dogs are currently searching the slide area, which made its way from a closed run onto an open run. Thus far, no one has been discovered in the avalanche. “We're still doing a full rescue at this time, " said Mount Norquay Admin manager Annie Marquis. “The run wasn't open at the time of the slide, but the bottom of the slide made it onto an open run. " Marquis could not confirm the size of the avalanche, however heavy snowfall and warm weather are attributed as the cause. Valley of the Tens is a section of the ski hill that is frequently bombed, however Marquis could not confirm when the last time the run was bombed. The rest of the ski hill remains open.
