Man rescued from crash after being trapped overnight in K-Country

Emergency crews were able to rescue a man Friday morning after he was stuck in his crashed car overnight out in K-Country.

Emergency crews were able to rescue a man Friday morning after he was stuck in his crashed car overnight out in Kananaskis Country.

Turner Valley Fire got the call around 10:55 a.m. on Sept. 6 for a single-vehicle collision on Highway 546.

Fire crews, EMS, RCMP, and conservation officers attended the scene, where they were able to free the man from his vehicle and get him up the embankment and into an ambulance, where he was transported to hospital in stable condition.

According to Turner Valley RCMP Cpl. Tiffany McGregor, the man said his SUV left the road just before the bend below Windy Point the night before around 9 p.m. where he was stuck overnight until a passerby found him and left to call 911.

There was no cell reception in the area.
