RCMP have charged a Morley man with the Jan. 27 murder of Charmaine Wesley.
Butch Chiniquay, 25, has been charged with second degree murder of the 25-year-old woman following his arrest on Feb. 11 and he is to appear in Calgary Provincial Court today (Feb. 18).
RCMP were called to a residence on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation reserve at about 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 27 for an unresponsive female.
The investigation has involved intervews and scene examinations, and a medical examiner’s report determined the cause of death should be considered murder.
The manner of Wesley’s death is being withheld at this time.
