Canmore RCMP seized a large sum of cash and arrested a B.C. man on Wednesday (Oct. 5) after receiving a driving complaint from a member of the public.
Dustin Plamondon of Kelowna was pulled over and arrested after 7 p.m. when police responded to a possible impaired driver in a rental vehicle traveling west on the Trans-Canada Highway.
RCMP pulled the vehicle over near Canmore and noted an odor of marijuana. They placed the 24-year-old under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and while searching the vehicle located 4.1 grams of marijuana, Oxycodone pills and a satchel with bundles of Canadian currency totaling $15,870.
Plamondon was subsequently charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and another charge of possession of a controlled substance.
He will appear in Canmore Provincial Court later this month.
