Edition four of Queer North Film Festival is running June 13-16 organized by the Sudbury Indie Cinema Co-op.

The festival showcases the best in queer cinema and brings both features and shorts programs to audiences over the course of four days says a news release from the group.

"Each film has premiere status of some sort at Queer North, running the gambit of World Premiere, to Canadian or Ontario premiere, and many northern Ontario premieres for titles coming off a premiere at Inside Out LGBT Film Festival which wrapped last Sunday in Toronto," it says.

Queer North aims to bring "daring festival circuit winners as opposed to mainstream Hollywood movies with LGBT-themes." adds the release.

Among the features program, northern audiences will see LGBTQ- films which premiered, and or won at, Sundance, Cannes, Berlinale, or SXSW. Many are international films.

In addition, Queer North will screen four shorts programs: two International programs, one Canadian, and one curated by the RT Collective which asks queer artists to create a short under four minutes on a cell phone.

The festival is also working with Fierte Sudbury Pride to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Stonewall Riots. Fierte Sudbury Pride has organized a Vigil, followed by a community screening of 2011 Stonewall Uprising at Indie Cinema as part of the festival.

Early bird All Access Pass to Queer North are $40 on sale until Friday  June 7 midnight and can be purchased here.

QUEER NORTH is the only queer film festival in northern Ontario.
