RCMP searching for missing paddleboarder at Lake Herbert

LAKE LOUISE – RCMP are bringing in a dive team on Monday (July 1) to help search for a paddleboarder that went missing in the water the day before at Lake Herbert in Banff National Park.

LAKE LOUISE – RCMP are bringing in a dive team on Monday (July 1) to help search for a paddleboarder that went missing in the water the day before at Lake Herbert in Banff National Park.

According to a Lake Louise RCMP press release, the male in his early 20s fell into the water while paddlebaording and did not resurface. RCMP responded to a call to assist  at 7:17 p.m.

Lake Louise emergency services conducted a search of the Lake Herbert for the missing man. The search was suspended late Sunday evening and dive teams will be returning Monday morning to help continue the search.

The lake is located along the Icefields Parkway, seven kilometres from the village of Lake Louise.
