SLOVENIA - Canada's Dahria Beatty looks ready for the World Cup after finishing third in her final tune-up race in Pokljuka, Slovenia on Saturday (Dec. 7).
The 25-year-old Whitehorse native, who trains at the Alberta World Cup Academy in Canmore, landed the podium spot in the Opa Cup cross-country ski sprint race and said she felt strong racing in Saturday's heats.
“It was a good opportunity to practice some more aggressive heat skiing and race tactics in a deep field with some regular World Cup sprinters,” said the Olympian, in a press release.
"The final result gives me good optimism and excitement heading into the World Cup next weekend.”
Next weekend, Beatty competes in World Cup action in Davos, Switzerland.
