CANMORE – Local golfers Bryn Davies and Ben Bagley earned victories at the Junior Open at the Canmore Golf and Curling Club course on Monday (July 29).

Davies, 14, is rolling this season, winning four titles on the McLennan Ross Alberta Junior Tour including Monday’s Canmore Junior Open, which she won last year, too.

“I love this course, I love the McLennan Ross events and this has got to be my favourite stop on the tour, honestly it felt really good to win it,” Davies said, who shot 16 over par in victory.

“I have played this course a few times, so I do have a bit of an advantage, but it still plays hard for anybody – you never know what you’re going to get out here.”

For Bagley, 15, it’s his first victory at the Canmore Junior Open. He shot three over par, which was the best overall result on the day.

“I’ve had some success here, I won club champs last year and I like this course,” he said. “I’ve shot some lower scores before, but I felt pretty good out there – I had a couple lip outs for birdie, it was kind of annoying, but decent overall.
