LAKE LOUISE – Gold isn't safe around Sofia Goggia when the Italian skier is in Lake Louise.
Goggia won both women's downhill races on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 2-3) at the Lake Louise Alpine World Cup and a golden sweep is in the 30-year-old's grasp for Sunday's super-G.
"It was such a perfect run and I'm happy with this," Goggia said post-race on Saturday, after clocking in at 1:28.96.

If Italy's best skier is successful in the sweep, it would be her second golden trifecta at The Lake. The only other woman to do that is USA legend Lindsey Vonn, who swept the podium three times.
"I think it is still Lake Lindsey (Vonn) because she had three hat tricks here and I had just one, and I am happy I did it once,” said Goggia in a press release.

Meanwhile, Canada's Marie-Michèle Gagnon snagged world cup points with 25th and 24th place finishes, respectively.
Sunday's super-G, the final race of the local world cup, starts at 11 a.m. MST.
