Career bests fell into Canadian biathletes laps on Saturday at the season-opening world cup.

SWEDEN – Canadian biathletes came out guns-blazing at the season-opening world cup on Saturday (Nov. 27) with three top ten finishes.

Career bests fell into the Canadians laps in Oestersund, Sweden, as Scott Gow finished fourth place and Christian Gow 10th in the men's 20-kilometre. On the women's side, Emma Lunder finished sixth in the 15-kilometre and Nadia Moser was 27th.

"Amazing race and great start to the season," Scott Gow wrote on social media after the race, adding that he's "very excited to see what's possible with this team this year."

The 31-year-old marksman shot clean (20/20) and finished 1:26.8 behind first place's Sturla Holm Laegreid of Norway, who crossed the line at 51:04.0.

The 2018 Olympian must really love Oestersund after scoring back-to-back world cup personal bests in the Swedish city. To close out last season, Scott was 10th place in the 10-km mass start.

Rounding out the men's top 10 was his younger brother, Christian, who shot 19/20 and was 2:26.1 back of the lead time.

Canadians Jules Burnotte finished 73rd (15/20) and Trevor Kiers was 109th (11/20).

Not to be outdone by the Canuck men, Lunder shined with some top-10 magic of her own with a sixth place personal best result.

Lunder (19/20) was 2:05.2 behind first place's Marketa Davidova of the Czech Republic, who finished at a time of 42:43.5.

Moser, who took leaps forward in the offseason, cracked the top-30 (18/20) to earn a personal best.

Canadian women Sarah Beaudry was 79th (19/20) and Benita Peiffer crossed the line in 104th (15/20).

The races continue Sunday (Nov. 28) in Sweden with the women's 7.5 km and the men's 10 km sprint.
