Wolverines taken out by rivals

Canmore Wolverines drop second straight to start season

CANMORE – Home field has not been friendly to the Canmore Wolverines so far this season.

The high school football club dropped to 0-2 after losing 14-12 to arch rival, the Drumheller Titans, on Monday night (Sept. 9) at Canmore’s Millennium Field.

Josh Ellis scored the Wolverines’ lone touchdown and Diego Perez de Camino kicked a field goal in the loss.

On a night where the Wolverines could have used all the points they could get, two of the team's touchdowns were called back because of penalties.

“We’ve had a serious discipline issue this game, so that’s something I’m going to have to work on in practice and that's something I got to correct,” said Spencer Rose, Wolverines head coach.

It’s the second straight loss for the Wolverines to start the 2019 season after the team suffered a 38-2 pounding in the home opener against the Ardrossan Bisons on Aug. 29.
