What do you get when you cross a red-seal chef and an indoor golf venue? One of Canmore’s most pleasant culinary surprises: the CanGOLF indoor golf centre.

What do you get when you cross a red-seal chef and an indoor golf venue? One of Canmore’s most pleasant culinary surprises: the CanGOLF indoor golf centre. While one may expect food to take a back seat in a games-oriented venue, the menu at The Clubhouse is not just eclectic, but also creative, imaginative and delicious. Chef Dallas Suttie’s fine-dining experience is evident as Clubhouse fare is elevated in both obvious and subtle ways.

The first discovery is the fact the menu is packed with local producers, brewers, distilleries and other suppliers. Bear and Flower dry ribs, Valbella pepperoni flatbread and Wildlife Gin Mule are just some of the familiar faces in the lineup. We tried the fruity Bear Brew, custom made for The Clubhouse by Duke Brewing near Calgary - a delicious accompaniment to the Forkin’ Good Fries, which feature a new flavour each week.

Pub favourites like burgers and a clubhouse sammie are complemented by next-level fare like a Creole shrimp dip, noodle bowls and honey lemon dill fried chicken.

We loved the al pastor taco bowl featuring a flavour-bomb of tender, slow-roasted al pastor pork, grilled pineapple, bell peppers, tomato, chopped greens, avocado, jalapeño peppers, smoked tomato aioli and a tortilla crumble that added a crispy touch.

The Crush burger has everything you want in a burger with an Alberta beef chuck patty, house bacon and all the fixin’s. Don’t miss the delightfully sweet bbq pork belly burnt ends, which we dreamed about for days, and the crispy prosciutto flatbread on a fluffy focaccia with fresh basil, cherry tomato, mushroom tapenade, mozzarella, grana padano, aged balsamic and olive oil. Perfecto!

A fun list of PGA-themed cocktails like Augusta’s azalea lemonade and the Pebble Beach margherita use local spirits wherever possible and the wine list has something for everyone carefully selected to complement the menu. Local ciders, coolers, draft and canned beer round out the bar offering with alcohol-free options like Grizzly Paw soda available for the non-drinkers in the party.

CanGOLF has a fantastic event space on the second floor perfect for bachelor parties, corporate events and other gatherings. With an updated summer menu, the CanGolf team plans to make full use of the sunny patio with unimpeded views of the spectacular Rockies.

With state-of-the-art simulators, CanGOLF is a golfer’s rainy-day dream come true, but the foodies will be headed to the Moose Meadows park location in any weather to enjoy Chef Suttie and team’s fantastic menu.
