Eat Your Own Adventure

primrose

Pasta Night at the Rimrock’s Primrose is the place to be on Wednesday nights.

For more than 20 years, Bow Valley residents have been making their way up Banff’s Mountain Avenue on Wednesday nights for a bit of fun, a lot of great food and some time with friends and family. What’s the occasion? It’s Pasta Night!

Choose-your-own-adventure eaters love this fun and interactive night out that allows you to build your salad and pasta dishes with the help of the talented chefs at the helm.

First, hit the salad station resplendent with fresh veggies. The salad master will toss your selections in beautiful greens (your choice again!) with a cream or vinaigrette dressing of your liking. Perfection!

Once you’ve enjoyed your ruffage, it’s time to hit the pasta bar. It’s tough to decide what to include in your custom dish with so many options. Vegetarians will delight in fresh peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, arugula and eggs for protein. The meateaters in the group also have delicious beef, chicken, pork, sausage and seafood options to mix, match and munch. We opted for some crisp veggies and  the sausage. And we were not disappointed with the savoury kick it added to our dish.

Once you’ve chosen your ingredients, you hand your bowl to the chef who will ask you some questions. Garlic? Yes please! Wine? Of course! Butter? Obviously! Cream? Definitely. Those with dietary restrictions can pick and choose exactly what works for them. Then, you watch the chefs  work their magic with your ingredients. Sauce options are also plentiful with a hearty beef Bolognese, creamy bechamel or light and fresh tomato to which you can add pesto, parmesan and other options.

Finally, you choose your house-made pasta. We went for the cavatappi, but you can also have penne, gnocchi or fettuccine. Eating keto? No problem, zucchini noodles are also in the mix. Top with parmesan and fresh herbs and you’re back to your table to devour your creation.

If you have room, (save room!) treat yourself to a trip to the dessert bar where you will find cheesecake, angel food cake, fruit parfait, Nanaimo bars, brownies, a chocolate fountain…you get the picture. We loved the crispy, creamy little cannoli and the carrot cake to top off a great meal and a really fun experience.

At just $36 for adults and $18 for kids, Pasta Night offers the best value in the Bow Valley from October to March (except during the Christmas season).
