EDITORIAL: Public engagement can be excruciating, painful and frustrating. But at the same time, it’s absolutely necessary for major community projects to move forward.

“We got to a point in the summer, July and August, where all staff accommodation was spoken for. That makes it harder to process or to attract or recruit entry level workers. The housing market outside the staff accommodation was super tight and super expensive.”

EDITORIAL: A triple whammy of flu, COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RVC) has slammed schools, hospitals and communities in Alberta.

“It is pretty amazing. It has been a long time coming. A lot of working partnering with AHS and making sure that the project moved ahead at the right time, with the right people involved."

“It is overwhelming going through this process and not knowing enough. It might just be me, and I am okay if my fellow councilors could digest it properly. I could use more time and have you go through it more intensely.”

EDITORIAL: The soaring inflationary costs are the latest signs of division between the haves and the have-nots. And while it’s not something new to the Bow Valley, the recent year has only seen the divergence continue to grow.
