BANFF – Living in the Rocky Mountains, we may not think of snakes as much as we do other wildlife like bears and cougars, but the Bow Valley Naturalists are hoping to put the reptiles front and centre in its next presentation.

On Tuesday (Oct. 22), the group presents a talk by Sandi Robertson on snakes of Alberta, which most people do not realize are quite diverse and esential to the ecosystems in which they exist.

Robertson is a wildlife biologist with Alberta Environment and Parks out of Medicine hat and her work focuses on species at risk. She is the recovery lead for several species and has spent time working with grizzly bears and caribou.

The talk begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Banff Seniors Centre and is free.
