Blake McLaughlin 1976 – 2022

Blake Cameron McLaughlin was taken tragically from his loving family, parents Bryan & Connie, sister Karlea & husband Gasper, Jared & Breanna nephew & niece. He also leaves behind his faithful dogter, Isa, as he fondly referred to her.

At an early age, he started taking things apart & putting them back together.  For instance, the time he took his bike apart at the age of 4 and put it back together properly. This likely sparked the interest that led him to his final choice in career.

He worked at Montana’s Cookhouse Restaurants in the kitchen, cooking, and advanced to training co-ordinator. He was instrumental in opening many new restaurants across  Canada for the chain.

Certified in scuba diving at an early age and with the desire to pursue it to a higher level, he moved to Nanaimo, and enhanced his diving career. He worked at Sink or Swim Scuba as a Padi Divemaster & Instructor. He had a passion for teaching and loved taking his students to see his “pet” wolf eels. They would come out for a friendly scratch from Blake. He came to Kona, Hawaii to certify his beloved nephew, Jared, in scuba.  He had plans to certify Breanna as well, but the times did not align.

He worked in various other jobs but decided being a Millwright was where his passion was. He liked working on major Hydro projects, sometimes along side his father. He worked on the new conveyors at the port in Vancouver as well. No matter where he was employed, he put his heart & soul into every task. He had a passion for many sports including skydiving, scuba diving, golf, ski jumping, snow skiing and snow boarding. He spent many a Summer at  Mara Lake with his family water skiing, sometimes barefoot, tubing and jet skiing.

Life as we know it will never be the same with out him.
