Rosina Zach

1929 – 2021

Rosina Karoline Zach passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 under the very compassionate care of the Doctors and nursing staff at the Canmore Hospital.

Rosina leaves behind her loving husband of 73 years, Adolf; her sister Christine in Austria; her nieces, Carol, Yoana, Elizabeth (Sisi) and her nephew Peter, in Ontario.

Rosie was a survivor and a fighter.  At the age of eighteen, she left Vienna Austria for Canada to reunite with the love of her life and start a new life in a new country.  They eventually settled in Banff, where they built a B&B and Rosie managed a shoe store for ten years.

After years of hard work, Rosie and Adolf retired in Canmore at Mountain Shadows which they proudly called home, “The Village” she would say.

Rosie enjoyed the outdoors; skiing, biking, hiking and especially camping.  They would take off for weeks at a time and tour Canada and the northern United States.  She would often recall their trips with passion and enthusiasm.   “Those were the good days” Rosie would say with a little nostalgia in her voice.

Rosie will be remembered for being spirited and hard working.  Her smile will be missed, but not forgotten.

Let Peace be in you’re your heart,

As you remember a Great Lady and a gentle soul.

Love For Ever
