Sylvia Heath

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Sylvia Heath, on March 31, 2020. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Marvyn, sister Shirley, mother Siiri and father Gus. She is survived by her children  Dale (Valerie), Brian (Cynthia), Tim (Cootchie), Rhonda (Mike) and Maxine; her beloved grandchildren, Kaila, Kelsey and Tyler as well as her siblings Jerry, Edward and Anne.

Sylvia was a lifelong resident of Canmore. She loved living in the mountains and took pride in her town. Sylvia worked as the Housekeeping Supervisor for the Canmore Hospital for many years and has made the most of her life since retirement. She was a very active member of the community and volunteered for many local organizations including Meals on Wheels, the Canmore Miners Historic Museum and NorthWest Mounted Police Barracks. She was very involved in Tai Chi and even became an instructor, teaching it into her '80s, despite being on oxygen.

Sylvia loved to travel and was active in golf, curling and bridge. Sylvia took joy in life and rarely said no to an opportunity and especially to a game of Tile rummy! She loved visits and calls with family and friends and truly appreciated the time spent with her in her last year of life. Sylvia will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.

A memorial Celebration of Life will be planned, in Canmore, mid summer which will be announced when arrangements can be confirmed.
