It won’t make much difference this summer, but the Town of Canmore’s incentive program for suite creation should be lauded.

Come on, people.

Wow. Not quite three years removed from Alberta’s last natural disaster, our own 2013 flood and accompanying state of emergency in Canmore, Fort McMurray has gone up in flames.

Anyone looking for comforting words regarding this province’s economic situation from Minister of Finance Joe Ceci in Canmore last week, likely went home disappointed.

Here’s hoping … Or, as Shakespeare wrote, “Once more into the breach, dear friends, once more …” And, since we’re tossing out famous quotes, we’ll go with one of Yogi Berra’s famous baseball-isms, “It’s like déjŕ vu all over again.

Here at the Outlook, we believe it would be difficult, perhaps impossible, to actually place a value on work done by volunteers in our communities.

Anybody with even the most minute interest in the preservation of wildlife, particularly in our region, needs to be aware of the razor thin line the Bow Valley wolfpack is loping along on.

We’re going to take an opportunity here to state the obvious. Don’t go into the backcountry this weekend.

We’d like to thank those of an environmental bent who appeared at the public hearing related to Canmore’s Municipal Development Plan, Tuesday (March 23).

Clearly, as Bob Dylan wrote – the times they are a changin’. This week alone, the Outlook features stories concerning climate change, Banff affordable housing, our labour market and a looming shortage of housing for our seniors.
