LETTER: I find the lack of detail on how Canmore property assessments are carried out perplexing.

LETTER: In the face of new commercial development proposals, holistic planning and human-use management are more crucial than ever to preserve vital ecosystems in beloved Banff National Park.

“Space is absolutely precious in Banff and so moving into the future we need to be building as sustainably, efficiently and as high density as possible,” said Mayor Corrie DiManno.

EDITORIAL: Parks Canada has equivocally stated for anyone and everyone to understand – a gondola at the Banff train station to Mt. Norquay Ski Resort does not meet federal legislation.

“The whole corridor gets rebuilt. There’s obviously a lot of interface with existing development at Elevation Place, so getting all those details right for how they tie-in is very important."

“We understand and we know that there are differing opinions in the community,” said MPC chair Stavros Karlos following an in-camera discussion at MPC on Wednesday (March 13).

"Again, as noted in several letters, emails, meetings, and telephone discussions between 2019 and 2024, a gondola from the ARP site to the Mount Norquay ski area has been assessed twice and found not to be feasible due to non-conformance with key park policy and legislation."
