Rest and Relax at Basecamp Resorts

It is attention to detail and a commitment to their guests that has made all of Basecamp’s properties so sought after. “Our standards for comfort, cleanliness and affordability set us apart. You can find four-star hotel quality linens, mattresses and towels in all of our properties,” says Dave.

Hotel developer Sky McLean was inspired by young, budget-conscious travellers visiting the Canmore area when she built the modern and stylish Basecamp Resorts. She then went on to build three additional hotels in Canmore and one in Revelstoke, all designed with the same attention to detail and comfort.

Stylish, Convenient and Comfortable

“With its multi-bedroom units and extensive living space, the original Basecamp Resorts is designed to appeal to extended families or large groups of friends who want to hunker down in Canmore for a reunion or an outdoor escape,” explains Dave Jones, VP of Operations for Basecamp Resorts. “Located next door is Basecamp Lodge, which is more of a no-frills hotel, with king and queen rooms – some fitted with fireplaces – a traditional front desk and lobby, a small banquet room that can be used for catered dinners, and rooms offered at reasonable prices.”

Situated conveniently near restaurants, walking trails and a short walk from Canmore’s shopping district, the original Basecamp Resorts and Basecamp Lodge make perfect home bases while visiting the Rocky Mountains. To make the stay even more enjoyable, Basecamp Resorts features a shared roof-top hot tub with incredible views of the stunning Bow Valley. At Basecamp Lodge, guests can enjoy a cedar dry sauna after a long day in the mountains.

Stay in the Heart of Town

Lamphouse Hotel, located in downtown Canmore, features a shared outdoor hot tub with gorgeous creek and mountain views. It is a spectacular spot to unwind.

“For our 25 room Lamphouse Hotel, which is one of only two hotels on Canmore’s shop-laden Main Street, Sky took inspiration from the ultra-hip international Ace Hotel chain when renovating the old Bow Valley Motel. Previously, it had been a decidedly unglamorous walk-up originally built in the 1950s. Now Lamphouse guests can lounge on furniture inspired by custom-built mid-century modern design,” says Dave.

Basecamp Suites, located adjacent to downtown Canmore on 10th street, is the only 3.5 star property in the downtown core. It features a variety of suites that include full kitchens and rooms that can accommodate up to 10 guests. The beautiful, modern and clean design of all of Basecamp’s hotels extends throughout these suites as well. Basecamp Suites offers a private and comfortable getaway that is still close to all of the shopping and excitement of downtown Canmore.

The Beauty of Revelstoke

In December of 2020, Basecamp Resorts opened their newest boutique hotel in Revelstoke. It is located just outside of downtown and has a beautiful view overlooking the Columbia River. At Basecamp Revelstoke, after a day of exploring, guests can wind down in one of the two rooftop hot tubs and enjoy the incredible mountain views.

Welcoming Guests Safely Throughout the Pandemic

All five of Basecamp’s hotels have been able to offer their guests incredibly safe experiences throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. All of their properties feature keyless entry that eliminates the need to go to a front desk. Guests are e-mailed a door code with their confirmation and do not need to make contact for check-in or check-out.

Committed to Excellence

It is attention to detail and a commitment to their guests that has made all of Basecamp’s properties so sought after. “Our standards for comfort, cleanliness and affordability set us apart. You can find four-star hotel quality linens, mattresses and towels in all of our properties,” says Dave.

Even though the pandemic has added unforeseen challenges for the team at Basecamp Resorts, they are still looking ahead to a bright future. “The pandemic has been so very difficult for our industry and all of our partners,” says Dave. “The reward will take time and for people to be comfortable to travel again. We are so thankful to all of our guests and partners that have supported us since our inception and through the pandemic.”
