MORLEY – Three people are facing multiple charges after police stopped a wanted vehicle believe to have weapons.

The Morley RCMP, along with the Cochrane RCMP, RCMP police dog services and RCMP traffic services, arrested two men and a woman in Morley earlier this week.

Police said they attempted to stop a Jeep Monday that was believed to have weapons. The Jeep fled the area when police activated their emergency equipment, but did not pursue the vehicle for public safety concerns, the RCMP said.

The vehicle was later reported on a back trail and when it attempted to escape, it was driven into a police car and minor damage was reported with no injuries.

A man and woman were charged, while the second man fled the scene on foot before being arrested with injuries from a dog bite. He was transported to a nearby hospital, treated and released to police custody.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants and is facing charges of resisting arrest, eight counts of probation breach, flight from police and assaulting a peace officer with a weapon. A 32-year-old Morley woman was arrested on outstanding warrants and charged with flight from police, breach of condition and driving with a suspending license and no insurance.

Both received a judicial hearing, were remanded into custody and will appear at Cochrane Provincial Court on June 22.

A 24-year-old Morley man was arrested for breaching parole and transported to a Calgary remand centre.

The Morley RCMP are asking anyone who may have information to contact them at 403-881-2828 or their local police detachment.
