Free parking outweighs free transit for some

Editor: I see that the Town of Canmore is implementing free transit on a trial basis in conjunction with exploration of paid parking in the downtown. These measures are intended to encourage the use of transit and discourage town centre parking.

I live in the 1100 Larch Place, and these measures do not serve me at all. The nearest bus stop is by the high school, half way to downtown, a walk of ten minutes, and of course other Larch residents are much further away.

Many of my trips to downtown require the use of my vehicle to carry things, and I depend on parking, especially in winter. Paid parking would be an unwelcome expense. Free parking is a big benefit to me, and should be retained.
