Keep national parks sacred

We have been visiting Jasper and Canada’s national parks for decades, so I feel compelled to express my opposition to the proposed Glacier Discovery Walk being planned by Brewster at the Tangle Ridge viewpoint.

Our family are all avid nature lovers and respect our planets’ remaining wild places. Construction and concrete have no place in the great vast outdoors. Paving paradise is never a good option since it would only destroy the natural beauty and bring harm to the environment and the animals that were there first.

Why should we have to pay for a view that should be there for all to see within a national park? We can never undo this devastation once we allow it.

The Dec. 16 deadline for public input on the environmental assessment should be extended to allow concerned persons to be able to read the documentation and make an informed decision. No written hard copy is available outside of Jasper (conveniently) and the online files are huge.

See the following link: http://www.glacierdiscoverywalk.com/downloads) Jasper is not only our national park to be protected, but also a UNESCO world heritage site.

Let’s keep our parks sacred and stay true to the mission of Parks Canada.
