I got quite a chuckle reading the article in the June 16 Outlook about the poor bed and breakfast owners who post on Airbnb. The Subdivision Development and Appeal Board ruled the bed and breakfast at 17 MacDonald Place was a vacation rental and most neighbours will tell the same story
I'm afraid this will be an ongoing issue until the Town of Canmore addresses the issue and outright bans Airbnbs. For a town with a zero per cent rental rate, one would think this issue would be at the top of the list as not everyone can afford to buy a home in Canmore.
