I wish to congratulate Canmore council for its decision to reject the Three Sisters Mountain Village area structure plan. In reading about the decision, I got the impression that there was more interest for affordable housing in Canmore and wanting to attract young families to the area.

Well, newsflash, a luxury resort development such as TSMV would not accomplish that. Council should go back to the drawing board and apply the many ways affordable housing can now be integrated, with what you have, creatively and affordably. Yes, it can be done.

Why does a senior from the Tofield area of Alberta have an interest in what happens in Canmore? My husband and I have vacationed in the area for more than 40 years. We were seriously considering retiring to Canmore because of the surrounding wilderness and we are not wealthy.

All involved in the Three Sisters Village ASP can do better right now and it is high time you did. Put the focus on what is right for the environment, the citizens and the local businesses. All will benefit equally, not just a select few, and isn't that how it should be? From a (hopeful) future citizen of Canmore.

Lorri Andrews,

Tofield
