Canmore needs more affordable housing, not luxury condos and houses.
Ordinary people with ordinary jobs are needed to service the local businesses and community organizations who were struggling to find staff before the pandemic and will struggle again when the pandemic is under control. ]
It takes two ordinary salaries for a family to afford to live in this high price, but very desirable environment.
Bringing wealthy people to live in these proposed developments will exacerbate the shortage of manpower, as they will not work for ordinary salaries to fill the gaps, but will increase the needs for services.
