LETTER: Closed door bylaw should be considered for Banff to cut greenhouse gas emissions

With signs of climate change all around us and inspired by a renewed call for action, we are wondering if the Town of Banff will finally implement a closed door bylaw for downtown businesses?

We have raised this issue over the last 20 years numerous times with letters to council and newspapers, but nothing has ever happened. It's completely unacceptable to ignore this issue any longer.

Is Banff really committed to being a "model environmental community that demonstrates leadership in climate change," which Mayor Corrie DiManno told the Outlook in its Nov. 4 edition. Is Banff serious about cutting greenhouse gas emissions?

With open store doors in the winter, Banff's green leadership loses all credibility.

Eva and Paul Sylvestre,

Banff
