I am hoping that the Canmore town council will do the right thing and approve the TSMV plan that sits before them. Despite all the
advertising against it, it is actually a plan that is needed for our town.

To start with, it would create a lot of jobs, which are needed in this time of economic hardships brought on by the pandemic. Perhaps those who are normally living on minimum wage working in restaurants and hotels (who are mostly out of work due to the pandemic) would like to make some money and work in the construction industry, at least until they are more financially secure.

Then, there are the plans for some commercial use, such as gas stations, shopping, etc. Again, more jobs for the locals.

These commercial uses are needed at the east end of the parkway. At this point, it is actually closer to go to Dead Man's Flats for certain things than to go into town.

With Canmore already usually overflowing with tourists and even locals, we all know that traffic and parking are always an issue in the core; this plan would ease that by having an alternative for shopping and errands.

The naysayers of this project don't seem to pay attention to the fact that we in Canmore already have parking, traffic, homeless, jobless and staffing issues, as well as a major bus route: we are, in fact, not a small town anymore.

Those days are long gone, and we need to move forward. We now need to create space for those who wish to live and work here.

And, yes, I know that you don't want them living here, because it would interfere with the "wildlife corridor" (read: interfere with your
view).

Our entire town is on a wildlife corridor, so if you are alright with living here and disturbing the wildlife around us, why should you be so strongly against someone else living here and enjoying our "city" as much as you do?

Canmore
