On Sept. 20, a federal election will impact how we move forward as a nation. Elections are a critical moment in time where citizens can express their hopes for the future and raise issues that matter to them. As a community, we can bring our unique perspectives to the table in the pursuit of our shared potential.

The Banff Canmore Community Foundation (BCCF) works to build the community we all want to live in. BCCF’s reach, from Lake Louise to Morley, represents 58 per cent of the land that falls in our federal riding, yet only 18.4 per cent of the population. But we punch well above our weight.

We’re a collective force for leadership on a federal level in diverse spheres – many locals are doing incredible work that's enabling Canada as a whole to make progress on the systemic issues of our times.

Our vital signs research reveals our community cares deeply about Truth and Reconciliation, environmental conservation and climate change, community wellness and mental health, and building a resilient and inclusive economy. Each of us can have conversations about these issues with the people and parties who are seeking our vote.

What we believe, what we’re learning and the solutions we’re developing here have the potential to lead communities across Canada into a better future – one in which everyone belongs.

The issues are complex, and there is much to be done. Let’s use this moment to step forward for our community, and for Canada.
