LETTER: Local choirs a community benefit

Editor: I was so happy to see the letters to the editor in the Sept. 1 Outlook about the Valley Winds choirs. As a member of the mixed choir, I can attest to the joy of joining voices to produce beautiful music and to the enthusiasm of the directors.

Editor:

I was so happy to see the letters to the editor in the Sept. 1 Outlook about the Valley Winds choirs. As a member of the mixed choir, I can attest to the joy of joining voices to produce beautiful music and to the enthusiasm of the directors.

There are also two bands that are part of the Valley Winds Music Association, a concert band and a jazz band. I have had the great pleasure of playing for several years with the concert band as well as having the opportunity of sitting in with the jazz band on occasion. These two groups welcome people of all ages who play a wind instrument or percussion from high school students to those who have a wealth of life experience.

The directors of both groups are experienced, energetic and engaging and take the time to make each practice fun as well as helping us to become better musicians. Any or all of the Valley Winds groups happily accept new members.

Barb Skinner,

Canmore
