Being a long-time resident of Canmore, I was disturbed by the letter Shirleen Burnett from Harvie Heights in the paper last week.
Growing up in Canmore, residents from Harvey Heights, Exshaw and Lac Des Arcs were always a part of our community. Their kids go to school and play sports in Canmore, and parents always help with fundraisers and community events, not to mention many work in Canmore.
They support our doctors, dentists, grocery stores and many local businesses.
They are a part of our community, as much as people who live in the Canmore area.
I am saddened to think these citizens don’t qualify for a parking pass at the Quarry Lake off-leash and pond.
I believe this policy needs to be changed.
Our neighbours helped Canmore to become what it is today.
We should be growing together, not apart.
