A recent article mentioned that Canmore had received funds and was planing to upgrade Quarry Lake facilities, possibly charging for parking.

As we saw this summer, a full parking lot only moved people onto Rundleview Drive and Peaks residential streets. Free parking is costing this town revenue.

If the Town was thinking ahead, a parking structure would be built close to downtown, all parking in areas frequented by tourists would be paid parking, all residential areas would be resident parking only and residents could purchase a "paid parking" pass for a minimal fee.

Now is the time to think ahead, properly plan before the parking problem gets worse.
