Editor:

Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks.

I would like to extend a special shout-out and thank you to the anti-mask and anti-vaccine folks out there. Thank you for decimating our health-care system in Alberta by overfilling our hospital wards and intensive care facilities. Many of our professionals are leaving their chosen work and years of recovery are likely required.

Thank you for requiring the cancellations of surgeries and other procedures for real people who have been waiting in pain for months and years. Some will die and all will needlessly suffer.

Thank you for pretty much ruining our economy to the degree that clearly will require generations to recover, with businesses having to close and careers being ruined.

Thanks for the pending huge increase in taxes. We can’t get through the fourth wave right now, otherwise, we could thank you in advance for wave five and wave six.

I would ask you, miscreants, to please look in a mirror and ask yourselves: why have I never had diphtheria, tuberculosis, bubonic plague, smallpox, polio, just to name a few? Hmmmm. Maybe 80 to 100 years of vaccinations?

Please rethink.

Donald James,

Banff
