I recently purchased a Splash membership at Elevation Place, which included access to the pool, hot tub and steam room.

After my first swim, I was looking forward in particular to enjoying the steam room, which was 50 per cent of my reason for joining. Much to my dismay, the steam room was closed, and when I was leaving the facility, I approached customer service to inquire when it would reopen. I was advised it would be many months because a very expensive part was needed and could not provide me with any date when it would be operational.

In my opinion, this should have been disclosed at the time of purchasing the membership. I felt like I was not being openly disclosed the truth when being a major part of what I was purchasing.
I then asked if a discount would be offered until all services included in the splash membership are once again provided. I was told no.

Furthermore, the hot tub is often closed, not all jets turned on, and/or the entire pool is closed with little to no warning.

I joined expecting a certain value which I am not receiving, with no discount offered. I understand membership fees have recently increased, yet services have decreased.

How is the Town of Canmore addressing this issue when it seems obvious to offer a discount until full services are provided?

Robert Bartsch,

Canmore
