Paid parking at Quarry Lake is not a simple yes or no.
Realistically, it is only an issue in the two warm summer months of July and August. Canmore residents should be allowed free access at all times.
Visitors should pay an access fee. In addition, parking in adjacent residential areas needs to be restricted to residents only or visitors will just park in Rundleview or Peaks neighbourhoods.
Once again, the town council is displaying reactionary thinking by spending a great deal of money on a specific issue.
The town council needs properly plan a whole town visitor parking plan. Spend the money on a parking structure in the downtown area.
